Doctor Who: The Sirens of Time
This time around, we look at another classic audio drama, this time giving us 3 doctors fort the price of one.
Gallifrey has been taken over by a seemingly unstoppable invading force, and somehow, The Doctor is the one responsible. Mysterious forces referred to only as The Sirens of Time have manipulated the Doctor in his fifth, sixth and seventh incarnations into making subtle alterations to the timeline, such as freeing a known war-criminal, preventing the discovery of penicillin and freeing a legendary time beast known as the Temperon, to give these invaders the upper hand. Who are these invaders, are they really after Gallifrey, or is there something much greater at stake, and who is this mysterious girl whom the Doctor keeps encountering? It’s going to take all three Doctors to uncover the truth and save Gallifrey.
What I like most about this story is how, unlike most multi-doctor stories in which the returning Doctors seem like glorified guest stars, in this story, all three of the Doctors get equal time in the spotlight. Davison, Baker and McCoy all have incredible chemistry with each other, and it was this same chemistry that lead to the success of our next honorable mention
